Building Intelligence For Maths

In this discourse, I want to show you how you can help your child build intelligence in Mathematics.

Please read this mail to the end. It is quite informative.

For understanding of anything to take place, a number of neurons in our brain have to connect and relate with one another in a coordinated form.

The rate at which your neurons (brain cells) make connections is what determines your rate of understanding or assimilation. While some people’s brain cells connect at the speed of light, some people’s brain cells connect at snail speed.

The speed of connectivity will be high when a neural path has been made in the brain for understanding of anything. For example, it takes time for your brain to make neural path that will enable you to be able to ride a bicycle. With continuous practice, over time, your brain will make a neural path for riding. Once the neural path is made in your brain, it will align your body with the bicycle and you will be able to ride the bicycle. The neural path made will allow you to ride anything that looks like bicycle subsequently.

If a person who has not made a neural path in his brain on how to ride bicycle is to learn how to ride a motor bike alongside with a person who has made neural path in his brain for riding, the latter will understand faster and will be able to ride motor bike because he has already made neural path in his brain. Once he climbs the motor bike, his body will stand because his brain has already made a neural path that will aid him in understanding of how to ride anything.

YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO MAKE NEURAL PATH FOR FIGURES

Your child’s brain needs to make a neural path for figures. It takes time and constant practice to achieve this, but once it is made, a child will just begin to understand subsequent Maths functions.

To be able to make enough neuro-connectivity that will enable your child to make neural path for Maths, your child needs to play and manipulate figures a lot. Playing with figures and doing mental Maths will help your child to thoroughly stimulate his or her brain. That is my aim of writing the book, Mathematics Tricks. By playing with the 30 Maths Tricks in the book, your child will be stimulating his/her brain for faster Maths understanding.

The good news is that we all can increase our rate of assimilation by simply increasing our rate of neuro connectivity.

The way to increase our neuro-connectivity and boost our understanding and mastery of anything is to do more of that thing. If a child is lousy at Maths, what should he do? He needs to do more and more Maths! The reason he is not good at Maths is because he hasn’t made enough neuro connections to allow him understand Maths. By practicing more and more Maths, the brain gets used to it as it creates new connections and thought pattern otherwise known as neural path.

I hope you can explain this to your child and let him/her see reasons why he/she should play more with figures and do a lot of mental Maths.

To your success
